So you want to try out Linux but don’t want to go to the trouble of having to mess with bootloaders etc? If you have a spare USB stick lying around you can try out a Linux distro quickly and with relatively little hassle.
What you need:
- Computer
- Linux Distro
- USB Stick (ideally more than 1gb)
- Unetbootin
Steps:
Download the Linux distro you want to try out.
Download Unetbootin – http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
Run the program and follow the instructions. Unetbootin installs the Linux distro onto the USB stick and enables it to be used to boot into the Operating System. It is compatible with a number of Linux distro types from Ubuntu to Mint. Check the website for more details.
Once the program has finished. Restart your PC , go into the bios and set the USB stick as the default first choice for booting up and you are sorted!
